Every institution has its own strengths, weaknesses, resources, market needs and opportunities. Selecting the best one for the moment can be confusing and frustrating at times. It’s not an exaggeration to say that it’s very much like a miniature start-up, where you need to understand how to fund your effort from some source, develop your offering, target your market, and build brand equity within your institution and broader market. The workshop will be hands-on and concentrate on developing an organized and effective way of assessing all the elements of an institution’s particular situation and teasing out the best opportunities on the horizon, not just in terms of maximum perceived need or market size, but taking into consideration the resources available and other obstacles that invariably stand in the way. Examples will be specific to educational programs in the auxiliary/camp as well as curriculum/tools market space.
